The Story of JL Events
On August 16, 2025, we celebrated one of the happiest days of our lives — our wedding here in Buffalo, NY. Like many couples, we wanted our day to reflect who we truly are. But unlike most, we had a vision that didn’t always fit the “traditional” wedding mold.
Instead of only sticking with formal décor and routines, we wanted to surprise our guests with experiences that felt joyful, playful, and completely us. We set up a slushy bar for a refreshing twist, created a board game table where guests could laugh and compete, invited a fire dancer to light up the evening, and ended the night with an ice cream sundae bar that made everyone feel like a kid again.
At first, many of our loved ones were unsure. “That’s not what people usually do at weddings,” they told us. But once the celebration began, the doubts melted away. Our guests laughed, played, sipped slushies, and made memories we’ll never forget. It wasn’t just different — it was magical.
That day taught us something important: traditions don’t have to be followed, they can be created.
